TOWN OF MALVERN WATER METER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

Your water meter needs to be replaced.  A town-wide water meter replacement changeout program was completed in September, 2021.  During the project approximately 575 residential, commercial meters were replaced by a local professional meter installation contractor.

Why is my water meter being replaced?  The technology that the new meters give, will save labor and time, prevent reading errors, minimize wear and tear on vehicles, and minimize the need for the Town employees having to go on private residential property.

Will I pay more for water as a result of the change?  Your water rate will not change as a result of changing out to new water meters.  Presently most residents are paying for the water they are actually using, while a few residents with much older meters, may have had meters that were underreporting usage, those residents may see a slight increase due to accurate reporting with the new meters.

The benefit of the new system is timely readings from month to month, all the readings can be completed in just a few hours.  Meter readings obtained over radio frequency transmissions are 100% accurate.  The new meter system also provides the Town with better tools to help you, should you suspect you may have a water leak.
